A Serenity Prayer by Reinhold Niebuhr

God, grant me the serenity
     to accept the things I cannot change,
courage to change the things I can;
and wisdom to know the difference.

Living one day at a time,
enjoying one moment at a time,
accepting hardships as the pathway to peace,
taking, as Jesus did
this sinful world as it is;
not as I would have it;

Trusting that You will make
all things right
if I surrender to Your will;
that I may be reasonable happy in this life
and supremely happy with You
forever in the next.

Amen  ~   Reinhold Niebuhr

I keep a copy of this prayer folded up in my Bible.  I read it from time to time, but  I almost always read it on tough days.  Today I read it twice.

             Until next time ...Marsha

  1. I didn't know there was more than the first paragraph. Thank you so much for sharing - and please feel hugged at the end of your not-so-great day.
